We love a great hotel. We also happen to love The White Lotus.
With Season 4 taking the series to the French Riviera and the Cannes Film Festival, we decided to look back at every White Lotus hotel from a different perspective: not as viewers, but as event planners.
How many rooms do they actually have? How many guests can they accommodate? Could you hold a conference there? Which properties work for incentives, which are better suited to executive retreats — and which could genuinely handle a major corporate event?
From Maui to Sicily, Thailand and now the French Riviera, here is The White Lotus, through the eyes of Venue Assist.
Season 1 — Maui, Hawaii

The original White Lotus. Season 1 was filmed primarily at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, using the real resort's interiors, restaurants, pools, spa, beachfront and guest accommodations.

Season 2 — Taormina, Sicily

Season 2 moved the story to Sicily and transformed the historic San Domenico Palace into the White Lotus. The former convent, dramatic terraces and views over the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna gave the season one of television's most memorable hotel settings.

The Venue Assist Take
Exceptional for an executive retreat, luxury incentive, private celebration or exclusive hotel buyout. It offers extraordinary character and atmosphere, but its room inventory and meeting capacity make it more intimate than Maui or Cannes.
Season 3 — Thailand
Unlike Seasons 1 and 2, the fictional White Lotus in Thailand was created using multiple real luxury resorts. Different properties supplied the villas, arrival areas, wellness spaces, restaurants, bars and other parts of the fictional hotel.

Season 4 — Cannes and the French Riviera
Season 4 brings The White Lotus into the world of Cannes and the French Riviera. Cannes has officially confirmed Hôtel Martinez and the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès among the season's filming locations, with production running across more than 50 days over a four-month period. Hôtel Martinez serves as the flagship hotel and is renamed White Lotus Cannes for the series. (Season 4 had not yet premiered as of this article's last update — details here reflect filming reports and may be refined once it airs.)

An Art Deco icon on La Croisette and one of the hotels most closely associated with the Cannes Film Festival. From an event-planning perspective, it is also one of the most capable large-scale hotels featured in The White Lotus.

Le Festival can divide into two sections of approximately 446 m² each and includes integrated sound, lighting and permanent 360-degree video-mapping technology. The hotel also offers La Plage, restaurant spaces, terraces and penthouse areas for hospitality and social events.

The most conference-capable property on this list by a clear margin. Between its own meeting infrastructure and its built-in ties to the Cannes Film Festival, Hôtel Martinez can genuinely support a major corporate conference, large-scale production and high-profile hospitality within a single address.
Why This Matters for Event Planning
A beautiful hotel is not automatically a great event venue.
Room inventory, ballroom size, breakout capacity, attendee flow, production access, outdoor options, privacy, transportation and the relationship between meeting space and guest accommodations all determine whether a property actually works.
The White Lotus locations are a perfect example. Some are extraordinary incentive destinations but intentionally intimate. Others can genuinely support major corporate programs. And in Cannes, the combination of Hôtel Martinez and the Palais des Festivals creates something different again: hotel, hospitality, conference and production infrastructure within one iconic destination.
